A connex is a geometric form introduced by Clebsch that included as special cases the curve considered as a point locus and the curve considered as a line envelope. Clebsch studied the case (1, 1), which is equivalent to a collineation, Godt studied the case (1, n), and Darboux incompletely investigated the general (m, n) case.
