It may not have much to do with education per se, even though it has become an indelible part of our world's history, but we would be remiss not to pause today to remember the thousands of lives lost twelve years ago during the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001. No words could adequately express the overwhelming feelings of grief and loss still felt throughout the world today. But may we not only mourn the senseless deaths of all who were lost that day; let us also honor and celebrate the lives that they lived! Thousands who lost their lives, and still more who willingly gave them so that others may live that day, will forever be in our hearts and thoughts. So today, and every day, we remember. And we promise to never forget.
